About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a diverse portfolio of government contracts across various types, complexities, and sizes
- Identify and advise program teams on contract cost and performance risk
- Build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships
- Act as a collaborative team leader to resolve issues and streamline processes
- Serve as the contractual expert for Project Managers and guide teams through contractual requirements and challenges
- Partner with internal program teams and/or customers to address complex challenges and deliver solutions
- Advise program teams and organizational leadership on contractual rights and obligations
- Develop and communicate holistic assessments of contract terms, conditions, implications, and changes
- Monitor program performance for conformance to proposals, legal requirements, customer specifications, and government regulations
- Draft and revise contract letters, change agreements, and contract performance responses
- Execute, facilitate, and support program change management and customer conflict resolution
- Contribute to proposal efforts through price/cost proposals and narratives
- Analyze, draft, and negotiate Teaming Agreements, NDAs, MOUs, MOAs, and other binding instruments
- Prepare and disseminate information regarding contract status, compliance, modification, deviation, negotiation, and termination
- Lead contract start-up and closeout processes
- Champion sound business principles supporting departmental and divisional goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and 12+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience; or 16+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Flexibility to support periodic travel to attend on-site meetings at Peraton facilities and/or customer sites
- Self-starter mentality with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research, analysis, and critical thinking skills
- Hands-on experience and working application knowledge of Government contracts and subcontracts under FAR, DFARS, and applicable agency supplements
- Experience responding to customer solicitations, participating in proposal and pre-award strategy and review meetings, conducting negotiations, and drafting/finalizing contracts
- Working knowledge of the relationship between, and development of, basis of estimates (BOE), work breakdown structure (WBS), and cost and pricing principles
- Proficiency in compliance with and implementation of corporate and contract management requirements
- Experience executing contract closeout, including finalizing outstanding issues, issuing final modifications and invoices, and coordinating contractor performance evaluations
- Must be a US Citizen
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain Secret security clearance
- Preferred: deep knowledge of contract types, terms, and conditions
- Preferred: familiarity with commercial contracting frameworks/terms and conditions, including FAR Part 12 and 15 contracts and OTAs
- Preferred: experience navigating competitive solicitations
- Preferred: experience administering Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) vehicles
- Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with contracts management systems/tools
- Preferred: familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools in providing contracts management support
