About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Trade Compliance activities within Peraton’s Legal Department involving U.S. government agencies across intelligence, space, cyber, defense, and civilian markets
  • Apply working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and FTR to research, analyze, interpret, and advise functional departments on U.S. international trade laws and regulations
  • Prepare, submit, and administer export authorization requests, including Technical Assistance Agreements and Commerce licenses
  • Validate applicable ITAR Exemptions and EAR Exceptions
  • Review and approve international shipments, foreign travel, and foreign visitor requests for licensing and regulatory compliance
  • Review proposals, contracts, and purchase orders
  • Participate in programmatic technical discussions related to business area programs and technologies
  • Conduct export compliance training for new employees, existing employees, and program-specific teams
  • Maintain export and import records according to U.S. regulatory requirements and company policy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree with 3 years of related experience
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Trade Compliance experience with a government contractor preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Organizational skills with experience managing multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Oracle’s GTM, DECCS, SNAP-R and CBP’s AES preferred
  • Ability to obtain a TS clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • Must reside near DC, MD, Northern Virginia Metro area, Annapolis Junction, MD, Melbourne, FL, Huntsville, AL, Colorado Springs, CO, or Aurora, CO
