About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Trade Compliance team in Peraton’s legal department
  • Support efforts pertaining to U.S. government agencies across intelligence, space, cyber, defense, and civilian markets
  • Research, analyze, interpret, and advise functional departments on compliance with U.S. international trade laws and regulations
  • Prepare, submit, and administer export license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, and Commerce licenses
  • Validate applicability of ITAR Exemptions and EAR Exceptions
  • Review and approve international shipments, exports, imports, foreign travel, and foreign visitors
  • Provide guidance to ensure activities comply with licenses and regulations
  • Review proposals, contracts, and purchase orders
  • Participate in technical programmatic discussions and meetings
  • Maintain export and import records according to U.S. regulatory requirements and company policy
  • Perform other trade compliance-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 10 years of trade compliance experience
  • Trade compliance experience must be with a government contractor
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and FTR
  • Experience preparing, submitting, and administering export license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, Commerce licenses, and validating ITAR Exemptions and EAR Exceptions
  • Eligible to serve as an Empowered Official as defined by the ITAR
  • Experience reviewing and approving international shipments, foreign travel, and foreign visitors for regulatory compliance
  • Experience reviewing proposals, contracts, and/or purchase orders and participating in technical programmatic discussions/meetings
  • Knowledge of U.S. international trade laws and regulations
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience preferred with Oracle’s GTM, DECCS, SNAP-R, and CBP’s AES
  • US Citizenship
  • Must reside near DC, MD, Northern Virginia Metro area, Annapolis Junction, MD, Melbourne, FL, Huntsville, AL, Colorado Springs, CO, or Aurora, CO
