About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide operational support for the customer enterprise environment
Provide daily operational and project support for the customer Windows server and VMware environment
Maintain virtualization infrastructure, including provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and automation
Maintain systems, hardware, software, and related infrastructure
Create and maintain technical documentation for supported systems
Perform regularly scheduled hardware and software maintenance, patching, and upgrades to maintain environment stability
Ensure compliance of assigned hardware, equipment, and configurations
Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to existing and new technologies aligned with organizational strategic and tactical plans
Participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule while working 8–5 ET

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 years of experience with BS/BA or 9 years with a high school diploma
5 years of hands-on experience supporting physical, virtual (VMware), and cloud (public, hybrid) compute environments
Experience providing operational support using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and VMware vSphere
Hands-on experience with Windows Server Operating Systems
Demonstrated experience using VMware vSphere, Windows OS, and VMware vRealize Suite
Strong cross-functional troubleshooting skills
Strong communication skills and professional collaboration with customers and other service providers
5 years of hands-on PowerShell scripting experience, including automation of administrative tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and systems management in Windows and VMware environments
Experience using ServiceNow or other ticketing systems
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance
Preferred: work experience with storage, network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security
Preferred: experience in a federal or regulated industry environment, with familiarity with FISMA, NIST 800-53, STIGs, or FedRAMP compliance frameworks
Preferred: experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools such as vRealize Operations, SolarWinds, or Splunk
Preferred: relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), AWS/Azure Administrator, or CompTIA Security+
Preferred: mature professional, highly motivated, self-starter with clear verbal and written communication skills
