About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide Windows System Administration expertise in a multitenancy environment for Active Directory, SCCM, Hyper-V and VMware Windows virtual machines
  • Coach and mentor junior team members
  • Create reporting solutions and reports for team and customer needs
  • Work with engineering groups to deliver customer value
  • Secure and manage Windows servers and desktops in production and non-production environments
  • Resolve complex integration and technical problems
  • Collaborate with systems administrators, DBAs and application developers to resolve system issues
  • Escalate and liaise with additional groups when required
  • Resolve incidents affecting hosts or environments
  • Investigate and troubleshoot root causes through problem management
  • Create, review, maintain and update documentation
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing among colleagues
  • Plan and execute controlled releases into managed environments
  • Provide input into business continuity planning and practices
  • Assist with power-down and disaster-recovery events
  • Respond to Severity 1 and 2 escalations
  • Develop and maintain Windows server platforms connected with multiple clients
  • Test and certify new Windows operating system versions and integrations such as VMware and SharePoint
  • Integrate server automation using custom scripts or third-party solutions
  • Perform regular hardware and software server-status checks
  • Maintain and support multisite Windows environments and configurations
  • Manage server migrations when required by clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years’ experience, or associate degree with 7+ years, or high school diploma/GED with 9+ years
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows Server Operating Systems
  • 5+ years of experience in patch management
  • 3+ years supporting Citrix environments
  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft BI stack, including SQL Server, SSRS and SSIS
  • 2+ years of experience participating in CAB meetings and approval flow of production changes
  • Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Experience deploying, migrating and supporting core Microsoft technologies at large scale
  • Expertise designing, installing and configuring Windows operating systems and applications, including Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10
  • Expertise designing, installing, configuring and managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, including Hyper-V
  • Ability to architect and design an AD transformation
  • Expertise troubleshooting servers, workstations and user experience issues with COTS and custom applications
  • Expertise with SCCM for software patch management in a multitenancy environment
  • Ability to architect, develop and maintain operational environment documentation
