About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver complex AI projects from proof of concept through to production deployment
- Take responsibility for scope, quality, and timelines
- Lead AI strategy workshops and assessments with C-level decision-makers
- Lead project teams and make delivery decisions
- Design and architect AI solutions across Generative AI, traditional machine learning, computer vision, MLOps, and LLMOps
- Support build-versus-buy decisions and evaluate models, technology stacks, and infrastructure options
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, anticipate their needs, and develop long-term partnerships
- Help shape new project proposals and lead discovery and scoping discussions
- Shape AI-native transformation and the use of AI tools, workflows, and methodologies within the practice
- Contribute to knowledge development through publications, conference presentations, workshops, and thought leadership
- Mentor and develop consultants
- Further develop service offerings and methodologies, including AI compliance and security
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical background in AI/ML with hands-on experience; have built, trained, or deployed models in a professional environment
- Proven track record of delivering multiple significant projects from start to finish
- More than 8 years of professional experience, including substantial experience in client-facing or cross-functional roles
- Ability to lead project teams successfully and develop experienced experts as well as junior consultants
- Genuine customer focus and the ability to build trust quickly
- Ability to move confidently between executives, engineers, and scientists
- Strong understanding of LLMs, Generative AI, MLOps/LLMOps, and enterprise AI best practices
- Fluent in German and English
- PhD or master’s degree in computer science, AI/ML, mathematics, physics, or a related field (nice to have)
- Experience in consulting, management consulting, a technology company, or a specialized AI boutique (nice to have)
- Expertise in AI compliance, trustworthy AI, or AI security (nice to have)
- Industry expertise, for example in energy, manufacturing, financial services, or retail (nice to have)
- Professional network within the DACH AI ecosystem (nice to have)
- Publications or public speaking engagements on AI topics (nice to have)
