About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the quality, integrity, and safe operating condition of high-speed packaging and end-of-line automation equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical production systems
  • Provide technical support and hands-on guidance to supervisors and production personnel
  • Support safety, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S, and ISO audit projects
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment
  • Diagnose and repair programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment
  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment according to company safety procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Advise operators and line mechanics on safe equipment operation and work procedures
  • Inform management and line mechanics of potential problems and hazards
  • Troubleshoot three-phase motors, PLC applications, electrical equipment, and control circuits
  • Install and maintain frequency drives, HMI, pneumatic, hydraulic, and compressed-air equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, filter replacement, and parts repair or replacement
  • Operate computers controlling and monitoring mechanical equipment and utility systems
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas while following GMP and safety regulations
  • Complete maintenance checklists and maintain scheduled-maintenance records
  • Support high-speed flow wrappers, vertical baggers, and pick-and-place robots
  • Follow and document a CMMS preventive-maintenance program
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Lead

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields are required
  • Any combination of related work experience
  • Certificate in applied electrical maintenance and/or Associates Degree in Electronics, preferred
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • General safety, lockout/tagout, HAZMAT, scissor lift safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including special diagnostic instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions, and specifications
  • Knowledge of NFPA 40E standards
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull 350-pound carts with wheels
  • Close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • Flexibility to learn and work in other job functions
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities preferred
