About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and continuous improvement activities
  • Safely operate processing equipment, automatic feed systems, hand trucks, forklifts, palletizers, and other required equipment
  • Perform package integrity and quality checks, including metal, seals, code date, product weight, and case counts/weights
  • Calculate, coordinate, and support production requirements for the assigned processing area
  • Add ingredients and mix products according to batch sheets, formulas, and processing standards
  • Maintain temperatures, batch identity, process times, equipment settings, and other critical processing requirements
  • Inspect product, materials, and product flow throughout the shift
  • Complete quality checks, inventory worksheets, code date tracking, production changes, and required documentation
  • Coordinate and assist with machine clean-outs, sanitation, changeovers, and start-up readiness
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs while maintaining critical equipment tolerances
  • Support root cause discussions by identifying repeat equipment, process, or quality issues
  • Answer process questions, reinforce standards, and help maintain consistent execution
  • Adhere to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Previous gum processing, food manufacturing, batching, machine operation, production, or related manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with processing equipment, automatic feed systems, ingredient handling, batch sheets, formulas, quality checks, sanitation, changeovers, production documentation, centerlines, basic equipment care, and troubleshooting preferred
  • Ability to complete production documentation, sanitation records, quality checks, inventory worksheets, code date tracking, production changes, and system entries accurately and on time
  • Strong math skills, including weights, measurements, batch requirements, counts, formulas, and production records
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members, Team Leaders, Maintenance, Quality, and other support resources
  • Ability to use computers, tablets, scanners, or production systems for required data entry and records
  • Ability to operate powered material handling equipment if required
  • Must complete required safety, GMP, food safety, quality, sanitation, equipment operation, lockout/tagout, powered material handling equipment if required, and processing training
  • Must be able to support and reinforce IWS routines, including standard work, centerline checks, daily direction-setting, defect identification, escalation, root cause activity, and basic equipment care activities
  • Ability to work overtime hours above the normal schedule
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, uniform, hairnet, beard net, and mask when required
  • Ability to wear and use breathing protection devices as required in dusty conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull 350-pound wheeled carts
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • Employees must be flexible in learning and working in other job functions
