Key responsibilities & impact

Perform start-up, shutdown, lockout, sanitation, and operation of packaging and/or process equipment
Produce high-quality products meeting or exceeding cost and quality targets
Manage day-to-day plant activities in a team environment promoting safety, food safety, and clear communication
Hold team members accountable for standards and commitments and follow escalation processes
Assess training needs and lead planning and completion of training
Assess work standards, make standards available, and ensure teams meet them
Engage with cross-functional support teams, leaders, and floor operators; coach and train others
Prepare written materials and deliver oral presentations using visual aids
Analyze data and train others on DMAIC problem-solving methods
Lead data-driven decision-making involving appropriate stakeholders
Locate, evaluate, use, and update company resources and information
Manage team-member conflict and resolve non-technical team issues, involving HR when necessary
Deliver professional feedback, adapt leadership style, and provide input for employee evaluations

What you’ll need

Two years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a food environment
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to work overtime hours above the normal schedule
Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ability to wear and use breathing protection devices as required in dusty conditions
Ability to perform required physical activities, including standing, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull 350-pound wheeled carts
Required close, distance, and peripheral vision
Flexibility to learn and work in other job functions
Prior leadership experience preferred
High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams; SharePoint, SAP, Paycor, Smartsheet, and Power BI
Knowledge of HR practices
