About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to identify and qualify potential projects
  • Cultivate client relationships, identify needs, and propose effective solutions
  • Assist in creating value-added propositions for owners
  • Collaborate on proposals, interviews, meetings, and presentations
  • Lead architectural physical conditions assessments, programming, and conceptual design for facility studies
  • Provide referendum support on applicable projects
  • Set project design direction with the Project Architect and Design Leader
  • Oversee production efforts on projects and designs
  • Coordinate revisions and drawing markups
  • Conduct code evaluations
  • Develop sketches and preliminary design drawings
  • Create facility studies, physical conditions assessments, and educational programming
  • Assist estimating with conceptual-level budget estimates
  • Present architectural designs during RFQ/RFP selection phases
  • Attend and collaborate in client meetings and presentations
  • Communicate with outside consultants and develop Professional Service Agreements
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Present project updates at school board meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on municipal and educational (K-12) projects
  • Professional degree from NAAB accredited college or university
  • Ability to obtain Architectural registration in states where the projects are conducted
  • Experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong public speaking/client-facing inter-relationship skills
  • Thorough understanding of the municipal and K-12 market
  • Ability to develop big-picture goals and detailed, accurate plans within the owner's scope, schedule, and budget
  • High-level technical expertise and ability to present solutions to non-technical clients
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and develop value propositions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage day-to-day activities and schedules
  • Ability to work onsite at project locations and PSI offices
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel
  • Ability to meet physical demands including occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
