About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to identify potential projects and cultivate client relationships
  • Qualify energy conservation calculations and operational cost savings to estimate final project costs
  • Perform energy audits and analyze findings
  • Propose energy-efficiency solutions
  • Develop project cost estimates and obtain pricing from contractors and vendors
  • Perform preliminary and detailed facility studies and energy audits
  • Analyze utility rate structures and consumption/demand histories
  • Evaluate existing building systems
  • Perform energy savings and operational savings calculations
  • Develop bidding documents for final project costing
  • Design energy conservation measures and building systems upgrades
  • Document solutions and prepare bid proposal documents
  • Oversee work of in-house engineers and outside resources
  • Provide technical assistance to operations during project implementation
  • Provide written recommendations concerning energy conservation measures, building upgrades, energy savings potential, and cost estimates
  • Support the ENERGY STAR certification process
  • Collaborate with the BDM and team members on proposals, meetings, and presentations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing traditional plan and specification projects in the HVAC industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing energy engineering functions in support of performance contracting projects is preferred
  • BSME or BSMET from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Professional Engineer registration in states where projects are conducted is preferred
  • Thorough, up-to-date knowledge about local, state and federal standards and regulations pertaining to providing services to youth and their families
