About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide highly visible customer support through on-site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems
- Instruct customers in system operation and maintenance
- Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters
- Install, maintain, validate, and repair PerkinElmer and/or multivendor instrumentation at customer sites
- Provide troubleshooting, repair, qualification, and warranty services within prescribed time frames and maintenance protocols
- Communicate service offerings including training, support, software, laboratory services products, and field upgrades
- Partner with customers to understand analytical workflows and applications
- Follow installation, warranty, and service agreement documentation standards
- Contribute to account profitability through efficient execution and service delivery
- Upload and download required service data
- Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, telecommunications equipment, and service parts inventory
- Develop technical and soft skills through training and development
- Report product improvement opportunities through the quality notification process
- Seek higher-level certification through company-sponsored training
- Complete administrative tasks including time reporting and assigned training
- Maintain health, safety, security, environmental, and operational compliance
- Service customers in the Louisville, Kentucky area and territory including Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, with focus on Cincinnati and Louisville
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA Bachelor Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 3 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment OR Associate Degree in a related discipline plus 5 years direct experience OR High School Diploma plus 7+ years direct experience

- Aptitude for technical and practical matters
- MS Office skills: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and understand technical bulletins and service manuals
- Ability to work under time constraints and maintain alertness and concentration
- Ability to work safely with potential electrical, chemical, radiologic, and biologic hazards using universal precautions
- Ability to travel by air, vehicle and/or other means of transportation as business requires
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience using Microsoft 365 preferred
- Detailed knowledge of analytical equipment, laboratory environment, and/or instrument control software preferred
- Vendor issued certification on relevant laboratory equipment preferred
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices preferred
- Ability to work in a laboratory and controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment
- Ability to occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds, with potential occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations
- May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator
