  • Present PerkinElmer capabilities in the marketplace
  • Provide an interface to customers
  • Represent PerkinElmer products and services in an assigned territory
  • Grow sales volume and execute sales plans aligned with regional and company strategic objectives
  • Manage current customer accounts and identify new targeted accounts
  • Participate in trade shows and improve market share and profitability
  • Develop product-line plans and ensure compensation margins meet company goals
  • Develop and implement business plans
  • Manage time and territory effectively
  • Present business and technical information and identify customer needs and trends
  • Promote and position PerkinElmer support services
  • Provide information about techniques and products and follow up on inquiries
  • Maintain customer information in approved tools including CRM
  • Update the opportunity funnel and weekly forecasts and manage the funnel to improve forecasting accuracy and meet growth targets
  • Cultivate partnerships with customers and suppliers to provide solutions
  • Solve customer problems using knowledge of competitive offerings and market dynamics
  • Work closely with regional sales, service, product specialist, and business unit teams
  • Provide local support for planned customer events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Chemistry or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of the capital equipment sales cycle
  • Working understanding of Inorganic (AA, ICP and ICP/MS) products
  • 3-5 years direct sales experience selling analytical instrumentation or laboratory experience as it relates to the products being sold
  • Must be able to travel 50%
  • Thorough understanding of business factors affecting account profitability and competitive status as well as laboratory operations
  • Experience with analytical laboratory software and instruments is desirable
  • Experience working in a laboratory utilizing Inorganic instrumentation is preferred
