About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as an embedded field specialist supporting the commercial organisation in the assigned region
  • Provide real-time product expertise to regional sales teams, support customer demonstrations, and participate in key account meetings
  • Lead regional competitive response for competitor instruments, pricing changes, and customer claims
  • Support product mix analysis, product line forecasting inputs, and portfolio utilisation analysis
  • Participate in distributor management through product training, commercial support, and competitive tools
  • Lead regional execution of global product launches, adapting plans to regional market conditions, regulatory requirements, and commercial priorities
  • Coordinate with Regional Marketing Managers on launch campaigns, customer events, and demand generation
  • Manage regional beta programmes, including site selection, relationship management, and feedback reporting
  • Deliver regional sales training for new product launches
  • Report competitive activity, customer feedback, application trends, and market developments to central product management
  • Conduct at least 20 in-depth customer conversations annually focused on market intelligence
  • Represent PerkinElmer at regional scientific conferences, trade shows, and customer events
  • Provide regional input on product requirements, pricing feedback, and application priorities for MRD and roadmap processes
  • Build relationships with key regional customers, opinion leaders, early adopters, and large-volume buyers
  • Support key account teams with technical and commercial input for tenders, framework agreements, and strategic accounts
  • Partner with the Applications Scientist on customer demonstrations, method development, and application-specific support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–10 years of experience in product management, technical sales, applications science, or commercial marketing within analytical instrumentation or scientific equipment
  • Broad working knowledge of at least one product line technology: atomic spectroscopy, chromatography, or materials characterisation, and its key regional application markets
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively as a field-based specialist, managing multiple concurrent customer and commercial priorities with limited day-to-day management oversight
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with regional sales teams, distributors, and customers across varying technical and commercial contexts
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned region (40–50%)
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline
  • Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in a relevant analytical or materials science discipline (preferred)
  • Direct hands-on laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation in a research, QC, or applications environment (preferred)
  • Prior field-based experience as an applications scientist, field sales specialist, or field marketing professional (preferred)
  • Native or near-native fluency in the primary commercial language of the assigned region where English is not dominant (preferred)
