About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Present PerkinElmer capabilities in the marketplace and interface with customers
  • Represent PerkinElmer Chromatography products and services across the assigned territory
  • Travel overnight approximately 50% of the time
  • Work with individual product sales and service teams
  • Execute sales plans aligned with regional and company strategic objectives
  • Manage current customer accounts and identify new targeted accounts
  • Participate in trade shows and improve market share and profitability
  • Develop product-line plans and meet compensation margin goals
  • Develop and implement business, time, and territory management plans
  • Present business and technical information and identify customer needs and trends
  • Promote and position PerkinElmer support services
  • Follow up on product and service inquiries
  • Maintain customer information in approved CRM tools
  • Update the opportunity funnel and weekly forecasts
  • Manage the sales funnel to improve forecasting accuracy and achieve growth targets
  • Cultivate customer and supplier partnerships and recommend solutions using competitive and market knowledge
  • Collaborate with regional sales, service, product specialist, and business unit teams
  • Provide product support and local support for planned customer events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Chemistry (or related field)
  • Must have direct experience with Chromatography (LC / GC / HPLC)
  • 3-5 years proven experience selling or supporting Chromatography instrumentation
  • Must be able to travel 50%
  • Thorough understanding of business factors affecting account profitability and competitive status, as well as laboratory operations
  • Experience with analytical laboratory software and instruments is desirable
  • Experience working in a laboratory utilizing Chromatography instrumentation is preferred
