About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare nutritional formulations that meet technical and applicable regulatory legal requirements
- Complete data tabulation, stability assessment and technical reports to support new and revised formulations and shelf life extensions
- Prepare formula-related documentation required for registration of powdered and liquid Infant products
- Provide nutritional technical support to the Pilot Plant and factories, including manufacturing documentation, theoretical calculations, and change management
- Prepare prototype and/or master formulas and associated technical documentation
- Prepare Pilot Plant and/or Plant Trial technical documentation
- Review finished-product data to ensure compliance with nutritional requirements throughout shelf life
- Use statistical principles to conduct shelf-life assessments and make recommendations
- Support factories with change management, formula fits, theoretical assessments, batch adjustments, and raw-material inventory management
- Prepare vitamin and/or mineral premixes and associated specifications
- Respond to retailer and customer requests
- Support formulation Organic audit requirements
- Participate in cross-functional teams and provide accountability for project timelines, roadblocks, and critical steps
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically acquired with a BS in Science with a strong foundation in nutrition, manufacturing, algebra, and chemistry
- Typically 4 yrs or relevant professional experience
- Strong working knowledge in Nutrition, Algebra, Statistics and Chemistry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and competency in other Office applications
- Ability to review and comprehend implications of regulations for different markets (FDA, CODEX, EFSA, HC, etc.)
- Highly focused, superior accuracy and attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of product development processes from prototype to commercialization
- Ability to work independently in a result driven, high-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to handle multiple complex projects with high fidelity
- Ability to work cross functionally with Quality, Operations, Marketing, Sales and Regulatory
