About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional support by performing and timely communicating quality tests and analyses required for product safety and quality
- Conduct sampling, inspection, and testing of incoming materials, in-line samples, finished products, water, and the environment
- Coordinate sample management and Quality Control testing
- Test moisture, conductivity, pH, purity screening, scoop delivery, dimensional parameters, package evaluation, and ingredient identity
- Release conforming incoming materials
- Prepare and send samples to internal and external laboratories
- Maintain communication with external laboratories regarding testing status
- Clean and maintain the laboratory and work area
- Perform periodic maintenance and calibration of instruments and equipment
- Enter analytical reports into SAP or other data-sharing systems
- Monitor material and reagent inventory and order laboratory supplies
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices and Laboratory Safety Standards
- Review laboratory data for accuracy
- Perform method monitoring through control charting and investigate trends
- Perform analyses supporting qualification, validation, and verification protocols
- Communicate testing status and results to Factory Operations and internal support functions
- Train new and existing laboratory personnel on methods and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain a focus on continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Food Technology, Biology, Microbiology, or another related field required
- Previous experience in another laboratory or analytical experience preferred
- Exposure to different jobs within the business unit, such as production or maintenance, or within Quality
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Task-oriented approach to projects and assignments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
- SAP experience preferred
