About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver clinical and scientific presentations on Personalis’ oncology products, especially the NeXT Personal MRD assay, to healthcare providers, academic groups, and other stakeholders
- Tailor complex genomic and clinical information to diverse audiences
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with oncology key opinion leaders and leading physicians
- Engage academic and community KOLs through regular scientific exchange
- Identify opportunities for advisory boards, speaker programs, and research collaborations
- Represent Personalis at scientific and clinical conferences, symposia, and educational events
- Support principal investigators with clinical study data or posters
- Participate in panel discussions and host educational workshops or grand rounds
- Ensure consistent and medically accurate external messaging
- Travel frequently, approximately 50% of the time, for healthcare professional meetings, conferences, internal training, and field engagements
- Support and coordinate clinical research and evidence-generation initiatives
- Identify and liaise with clinical trial sites and investigators for company-sponsored studies or investigator-initiated trials
- Assist with study site onboarding and monitor study progress according to appropriate guidelines
- Contribute medical and scientific expertise to slide decks, white papers, training modules, publications, and educational materials
- Critically appraise new research findings and incorporate them into educational materials and talking points
- Gather field insights and monitor emerging research, competitive developments, and clinical guidelines related to MRD, ctDNA, and precision oncology
- Share scientific updates and field feedback with Medical Affairs, R&D, and Marketing to inform strategy, product development, and data needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- At minimum, a Master’s degree in life sciences, genetics, molecular biology or related field is required
- Candidates with Genetic Counseling certification (CGC/MS) or other advanced clinical training and significant oncology genomics experience will also be considered
- In-depth knowledge of oncology and molecular biology, including cancer genomics, biomarkers, and liquid biopsy testing
- Experience or training in ctDNA assays, next-generation sequencing, or minimal residual disease monitoring is highly desirable
- 1+ years of experience in oncology or precision medicine is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and present complex scientific data clearly and concisely
- Ability to deliver presentations and educate small and large audiences
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with healthcare providers, researchers, and cross-functional team members
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, adaptability, and a collaborative approach
- Ability to work independently in a remote field-based setting while collaborating with a broader team
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 50%, including overnight trips, by car and air
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by air are required
- Ability to manage frequent travel and maintain productivity while on the road
- Proximity to a major airport is ideal
