About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and review payroll information
- Track personnel leave time
- Develop onboarding procedures for new hires
- Provide support for senior staff members
- Compose correspondence to internal and external entities
- Monitor departmental budgets
- Prepare, monitor, and administer departmental or organizational budgets
- Procure and manage inventory of supplies and equipment
- Manage projects related to the assigned work area
- Coordinate activities, events, sponsorships, committee members, and volunteers
- Serve as secretary or coordinator on committees or boards
- Collaborate with merit system employees, department heads, elected officials, and internal departments
- Initiate, write, implement, monitor, and report on grants
- Coordinate schedules, produce reports, draft ordinances/resolutions, update procedure manuals, create forms, maintain files and records, order supplies, and implement and monitor programs
- Prepare for and attend City Council and Board meetings
- Support safety initiatives and Workers’ Compensation functions
- Assist with employee disciplinary processes
- Perform human resources functions including onboarding, timesheet monitoring, leave tracking, annual reviews, and payroll processing
- Produce and deliver training and presentation materials
- Supervise staff by assigning work, monitoring progress, and providing feedback or training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience researching, evaluating, and reporting data related to organizational operations
- Experience planning, coordinating, managing, and evaluating projects
- Experience writing reports outlining or summarizing proposals, research, projects, outcomes, and recommendations
- Experience working under the parameters of a grant program and/or managing a budget
- Ability to perform required administrative and human resource functions
- Ability to supervise subordinate personnel
