About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Work across multiple departments at Peter Mac Parkville and radiotherapy sites at Box Hill or Moorabbin
- Provide care across inpatient haematology, medical and surgical oncology, short stay, enhanced care, chemotherapy day, radiotherapy, cancer imaging and outpatient clinics
- Conduct comprehensive, systematic and culturally appropriate patient assessments
- Analyse information and data and communicate outcomes
- Develop, document and communicate nursing care plans from admission to discharge
- Provide safe, appropriate, responsive and ethical nursing care
- Build therapeutic and professional relationships with patients, families, carers and colleagues
- Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise and delegate practice to enrolled nurses and RUSONs
- Evaluate outcomes and revise nursing practice accordingly
- Provide information and education to support patients’ health decisions
- Complete mandatory annual and nursing competencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience (Grade 2 Year 4 or above)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in acute inpatient or ambulatory care
- Availability to work at least 2-3 days per week
- Confidence in clinical assessment, organisation and decision-making
- Experience caring for complex or acutely unwell patients
- Competence with electronic medical records and digital clinical systems
- Commitment to safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care
- Up-to-date immunisation status
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
- Satisfactory police check and vaccination evidence

- Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development
