About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Learn about the municipal finance industry, alternative delivery/P3 ownership and finance structures, and higher education and healthcare industries
  • Analyze financial information and produce financing options for municipal bond structures using Excel and DBC Finance® software
  • Analyze and produce detailed cash flows for client plans of finance and borrowing programs
  • Assist with creating rating agency scorecards based on major credit rating agency methodologies
  • Prepare quantitative presentations for rating agency, client communication, and marketing purposes
  • Create and deliver presentations, reports, and summaries outlining financial scenarios and recommendations
  • Contribute to reviewing financial and legal documents for assigned transactions and projects
  • Assist project managers with responses to RFPs/RFQs
  • Complete assignments timely and communicate progress with internal staff
  • Gain exposure to diverse clients and transactions across PFM’s served entities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Compelling interest in building a career in public finance, ideally evidenced by related coursework, internships, or other transferable experience
  • Willingness to submit to a quantitative aptitude assessment and background check
  • Passage of Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) exam for Series 50 certification within six months of training inception
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and minimal oversight
  • Strong executive presence and credibility when engaging with senior leaders
  • Willingness to learn Excel and DBC Finance® software at a high level
  • No visa sponsorship offered
