About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Community Partnerships Team in creating a collective experience for the Youth Mental Health Corps across 16 states
  • Design and host monthly virtual spaces to foster supportive relationships, address challenges, and celebrate successes
  • Use an LMS/digital platform for synchronous and asynchronous training and professional development resources
  • Provide training and coaching on near-peer mentoring, skills-based mental health education, behavioral health field exploration, secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, and youth advocacy
  • Provide access to mental health supports and resources
  • Create monthly feedback mechanisms for Youth Mental Health Corps members
  • Build relationships and conduct in-person visits with AmeriCorps programs, host sites, and members
  • Track member attendance data and exit surveys
  • Co-design, develop, and implement a Youth Mental Health Corps Leadership Fellows Program
  • Support the Fellows nomination process
  • Co-design leadership and development curriculum
  • Identify certification programs for Leadership Fellows
  • Implement outreach to recruit Leadership Fellows
  • Lead fellowship meetings
  • Collect and manage exit survey data for fellowship meetings
  • Report directly to the Director, School-Based Programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 years of experience implementing programs and increasing community mental health awareness
  • Willing and able to work remotely
  • Attentive to detail and efficient in managing diverse tasks
  • Ability to virtually facilitate a large group of individuals
  • Strong passion for PHE’s mission and alignment with PHE’s core values of Health Equity, Commitment, Communication, Agency, and Impact
  • Centers youth inclusion, community partnership, and equity work through deep listening and hearing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, or similar preferred
  • Previous AmeriCorps member experience preferred
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate within 30 days to California, Illinois, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, New York, or Georgia
