About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsibility for the IT and systems architecture of digital learning platforms, including AI-based solutions
Strategic further development of the platform architecture
Integration of AI and LLM components into products and design of the required infrastructure
Responsibility for identity and access management, including Keycloak and SSO
Responsibility for interfaces to internal systems, as well as customers’ LMS and HR systems
Supporting technical requirements in enterprise projects with customers
Driving migration and modernization projects forward
Transitioning services to the company’s own infrastructure and ensuring stable operations
Creating transparency around infrastructure and operating costs, as well as AI usage, as a basis for pricing and cost control
Collaborating with the CTO, IT leadership, Product Management, and Engineering
Translating requirements into robust technical solutions and advising other teams
Defining architecture standards, best practices, and documentation
Taking data protection, security, and compliance into account, particularly the GDPR and ISO 27001

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience as an IT or Systems Architect, or as a Senior Engineer with architectural responsibility
In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure
Knowledge of containerization with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
Knowledge of GitOps with Argo CD
Knowledge of API design
Experience in identity and access management with Keycloak and Microsoft Entra
Practical experience with service migrations and operating production SaaS systems
Confidence in designing and operating CI/CD pipelines with GitLab
Experience planning and operating backup and recovery solutions
Structured, solution-oriented, and proactive approach to work
Enjoyment of sharing knowledge and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Good command of English
Experience with LLM-based applications is a plus
Experience with cloud cost analysis (FinOps) is a plus
German language skills are a plus
Residence near the Hamburg office is a plus
