About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with drug manufacturers and wholesalers
  • Manage procurement of biologics, DMARDs, and other specific medications
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for medication procurement and storage
  • Maintain an accurate inventory tracking system
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed
  • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and safety
  • Oversee dispensing of oral medications to patients
  • Coordinate with the infusion team on preparation and delivery of infusion medications
  • Ensure all dispensing activities comply with state and federal regulations
  • Develop and enforce policies for medication storage and handling
  • Perform regular quality checks to safeguard medication integrity
  • Stay current on evolving regulations and industry best practices
  • Supervise and train pharmacy staff on procurement and dispensing procedures
  • Foster collaboration between the pharmacy and teams
  • Educate patients on their oral medications and proper usage
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns about medication usage and side effects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PharmD
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmacy procurement and management, preferably in an infusion therapy setting
  • Strong knowledge of medications and biologics
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Proficient with inventory management software and systems
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
