About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process across group entities
- Prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and local statutory requirements
- Assist in maintaining financial controls and general ledger activities
- Support annual audits and statutory reporting requirements
- Monitor cash flow and maintain the cash forecast
- Prepare VAT returns and support multi-jurisdiction tax compliance with external advisors
- Oversee Accounts Payable, expenses and corporate card processes
- Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and approval workflows
- Help identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities
- Work closely with operational stakeholders across the business
- Support budgeting, forecasting and planning activities
- Assist with performance and profitability analysis
- Support finance transformation initiatives
- Maintain finance policies and procedures
- Support automation and reporting enhancement projects
- Report to the Finance Director and work across 5 entities in 4 countries
Requirements
What you’ll need- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified/part-qualified or equivalent experience
- 5 years of accounting and finance experience
- Strong understanding of management reporting, financial controls and audit processes
- Experience as a Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar
- Experience in management reporting and month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with cloud accounting systems
- Desired: Experience within a technology-enabled, marketplace, subscription or multi-site business
- Desired: Experience in a scale-up or high-growth environment
- Desired: Exposure to UK, US or European entities
- Desired: Experience supporting systems implementations and process improvements
- Desired: Familiarity with VAT and multi-jurisdiction finance operations
- Desired: Experience with Xero, Pleo, Airwallex and Zahara
