About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and enhancements to the Data platform to support growing usage in France and internationally
  • Maintain and evolve data processing and storage architectures
  • Identify performance limitations and implement appropriate optimizations
  • Configure and optimize PostgreSQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
  • Develop and maintain robust data processing workflows
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines and their orchestration
  • Reduce production incidents and improve processing resilience
  • Apply software development best practices: testing, continuous integration, code review, and code structure
  • Ensure the availability and performance of data repositories and analytics tools
  • Implement and evolve metrics, alerts, and monitoring dashboards
  • Analyze usage of the platform and Metabase
  • Document incidents, technical decisions, and corrective actions
  • Help teams translate their needs into appropriate Data solutions
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and collective technical discussions
  • Contribute to standardizing metrics, definitions, and documentation
  • Foster team autonomy and the adoption of Data best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum three to four years of higher education)
  • Approximately 5 years of Data Engineering experience, including hands-on experience in production environments
  • Experience with data volume, performance, or scalability challenges
  • Ability to configure and optimize tools
  • Able to work independently within a small team with broad responsibilities
  • Excellent command of SQL and PostgreSQL, particularly performance tuning and optimization
  • Strong experience with Spark and the ability to configure and optimize it
  • Operational experience with Kubernetes in a Data environment
  • Proficiency with a workflow orchestrator such as Airflow or an equivalent tool
  • Proficiency with Git and software development practices applied to Data pipelines
  • Rigorous, curious, and proactive approach
  • Ability to explain technical topics to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise
  • Enjoys collaborative work and knowledge sharing
  • Python, dbt, and Metabase are a plus
  • Experience with observability tools such as Grafana or Datadog is a plus
  • Experience with Open Source technologies or projects is a plus
  • Experience working with an internally managed technology stack without relying exclusively on managed services from a major cloud provider or an integrated platform
  • Interest in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Terraform
