About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and own relationships with regulators, government officials, legislators, consumer groups, trade associations, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders across the UK and EU
Represent Plaid in industry working groups and policy forums on open banking, open finance, smart data, payments, security, and privacy
Lead research and analysis shaping Plaid’s positions on key issues and informing regulatory engagement and advocacy
Own the planning and execution of Plaid’s UK and EU policy agenda
Coordinate projects with internal and external stakeholders
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Communications, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams
Monitor emerging policy trends in the UK and EU
Identify risks and opportunities for Plaid’s business
Recommend strategies for policy engagement

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of experience in UK or EU financial services policy
Strong existing relationships with policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, trade associations, think tanks, and consumer groups in the UK or EU
Proven track record of advocacy and policy influence within financial services
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders, including those across the political spectrum
Resourceful, adaptable, and collaborative approach
Curiosity about product, technology, and AI
Policy experience across both the UK and EU (nice-to-have)
Experience working on open banking, open finance, payments, or data-sharing policy (nice-to-have)
Based in London (nice-to-have)
