About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design and implementation of the project's Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategy
  • Develop evidence-based communication interventions influencing knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and social norms
  • Support project teams and partners in implementing and monitoring SBCC activities
  • Develop IEC materials, social media content, videos, advocacy materials, and publications
  • Translate technical information into engaging and accessible content
  • Produce ethical, safeguarding-compliant stories of change and project impact
  • Develop and implement advocacy and influencing plans
  • Facilitate meaningful participation of children and young people in campaigns and advocacy initiatives
  • Mentor youth leaders in communications, storytelling, and advocacy
  • Ensure compliance with branding, safeguarding, and donor visibility requirements
  • Identify opportunities to showcase project impact through media, digital platforms, and stakeholder engagement
  • Work closely with implementing partners, local stakeholders, and young people
  • Report to the Head of Communications, Advocacy, and Campaigns

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Development Communication, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing Communication, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in communications, SBCC, advocacy and influencing, campaigns, and multimedia content development
  • Demonstrated experience in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC)
  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy and influencing
  • Demonstrated experience in co-creation and engagement with children and young people
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation, storytelling, and multimedia communications
  • Demonstrated experience in development, humanitarian, child protection, gender, or youth-focused programs
  • Training in SBCC, advocacy, digital communications, safeguarding, ethical storytelling, or meaningful youth participation is an advantage
  • Portfolio or work samples
  • Ability to work across Eastern Visayas and BARMM, with field work as needed
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and young people and compliance with pre-employment checks
