About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and other network infrastructure at the Yola office and assigned programme/field locations
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points and other network infrastructure
- Support fibre, radio, VSAT, Starlink and other satellite or wireless connectivity solutions
- Support telecommunications, emergency communication systems, satellite phones, BGAN and radio communications
- Administer and monitor CCTV/IP surveillance systems, NVRs, cameras and related network infrastructure
- Support ICT power and backup systems, including UPS units, inverters, batteries and solar systems
- Provide technical support for Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID/Azure AD and Active Directory
- Support user onboarding, access changes and offboarding
- Deploy and manage laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and other ICT equipment
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating-system, printing and peripheral issues
- Respond to and resolve ICT incidents and service requests within SLAs and OLAs
- Provide onsite and remote technical support and maintain service-management records
- Implement ICT security controls, endpoint protection, antivirus/EDR, encryption, patch management, MFA and access controls
- Support cybersecurity incident identification, reporting and escalation
- Work with programme and operations teams to provide technical solutions and ICT support for activities, trainings, deployments, project locations and office setups
- Participate in requirements gathering, testing, implementation, rollout and post-implementation support
- Maintain ICT asset records and support asset lifecycle, licences, warranties, contracts, procurement and vendor management
- Perform and monitor backups and support business continuity and disaster recovery
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configurations, procedures, asset records and user guides
- Organize ICT induction, awareness and end-user training
- Ensure ICT services comply with corporate standards, architecture, policies, procedures and service standards
- Report directly to the IT Coordinator with matrix management to the ZARCH Project Coordinator
- Fulfil safeguarding responsibilities and report safeguarding concerns immediately
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
- Completion of NYSC is compulsory
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in ICT, IT infrastructure, networking, systems administration or user support
- Practical experience managing and supporting Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points and security appliances
- Good knowledge of the Meraki Dashboard, including network monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, firmware updates, VLANs, wireless networks, firewall policies and VPNs
- Experience supporting LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, routers, switches and firewalls
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD and Active Directory
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
- Experience supporting laptops, desktops, printers and other ICT equipment
- Good understanding of cybersecurity, access control, MFA, endpoint security and data protection
- Experience supporting cloud-based applications and services
- Experience with ICT connectivity technologies such as fibre, Starlink, VSAT, radio and other wireless solutions
- Experience supporting CCTV/IP surveillance and ICT backup-power systems, including UPS, inverters, batteries and solar systems, is an advantage
- Experience providing IT support to users both onsite and remotely
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
- Experience working in an NGO, humanitarian or field-based environment is an advantage
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide effective onsite, remote and telephone-based IT support
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users
- Strong interpersonal, communication, listening and customer-service skills
- Ability to think creatively and identify practical technology solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent requests and incidents
