About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct community orientation sessions about Plan International Pilipinas and the ECCD project with local leaders, people’s organizations, and other stakeholders
  • Gather and update community and youth data and support sharing key information within communities
  • Implement project activities based on approved workplans
  • Ensure child protection, safeguarding, and gender equality principles are followed
  • Facilitate monitoring and reflection sessions with community partners to review progress and lessons learned
  • Document community activities, processes, and good practices
  • Support data collection for monitoring and evaluations in coordination with the MERL Officer
  • Identify, mobilize, and train parents and caregivers to participate as ECCD champions
  • Support center-based and home-based early learning programs, including Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP)
  • Work with daycare workers, teachers, parents, caregivers, community leaders, and local government units to improve early childhood care and learning services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Education, or other related courses
  • Training or experience in Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD)
  • Training or experience in Community Organizing or Community Development
  • Training or experience in Project or Program Implementation
  • Training or experience in Participatory Rapid or Rural Appraisal
  • Training or experience in Gender Sensitivity and Gender and Development
  • Training or experience in Child and Youth Protection
  • At least three (3) years of experience in community-based work, ECCD programming, or development projects
  • Experience working with children, families, and community groups
  • Hands-on experience using participatory approaches in community settings
  • Basic ability to use computers, mobile devices, common software, and internet-based tools
  • Ability to explain ideas clearly and respectfully to different audiences, listen well, support open discussion, and build trust and positive working relationships
  • Understanding of basic community organizing principles and ability to organize community groups, mobilize local resources, and support community-led initiatives focused on children and families
  • Applicants must be able to be based in the project area
