About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage the verification process for healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, nursing, and allied health
Review applications for completion
Verify state licensure
Collect information from national databanks and federal and state records
Compile applicable security and credential documents
Assemble qualification packages for review by the customer's Security & Credentialing Office
Manage timelines and processing while handling customer expectations
Perform Primary Source Verification (PSV)
Complete verifications and ensure organizational and staff compliance with DHA directives, industry trends, and standard credentialing procedures
Generate and email credentialing-results notification letters to applicants
Respond to applicant questions regarding credentialing status
Promptly respond to inquiries from the customer's Security and Credentialing Office
Provide direct supervision to support staff administering application processing
Implement DHA policies and standards to maintain compliant credentialing operations
Work with applicants and QL staff to support and enhance credentialing functions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Five plus years of experience in medical credentialing
Overall knowledge of the credentialing and privileging process
Knowledge of required credentials for healthcare professionals
Knowledge of appropriate sources used to complete Primary Source Verification (PSV) and databank queries
Familiarity with, or ability to utilize, applicable policies, guidelines, and regulations for the DoD credentialing process
Two plus years of credentialing experience with the DoD
Ability to interface with all levels of military medical staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer relationship skill sets
Skills using MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Organizational skills
Detail-oriented and accurate work
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or related field is desired
Equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience may be considered
Experience in Quality Assurance preferred
Experience in the DoD credentials process preferred
Leadership experience/ability/aptitude
