About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide subject matter expertise on occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes for study design and data interpretation of military aviation and firefighter/first responder datasets
  • Oversee and assist in developing and conducting statistical analysis plans for various studies
  • Provide expert review of, or contribute to, job groupings into similar exposure groups
  • Work with industrial hygienists and health physicists to review job titles and tasks and conduct expert ratings/rankings of occupational exposures
  • Contribute to a comprehensive literature review of potential aviation-related hazards in military and commercial aviation and support crew activities
  • Assist with literature review and comprehensive assessment of available evidence and prioritized potential carcinogens of interest
  • Assist in developing job exposure matrices accounting for uncertainty from expert assessments
  • Develop a job exposure matrix quantifying exposure to ionizing radiation associated with high-altitude flight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD
  • Experience in the epidemiology of cancers
  • Experience with epidemiology of affected worker populations and carcinogenic occupational exposures
  • Experience or expertise related to occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with communication tools (Teams, SharePoint)
