About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide program leadership by working with existing clients
  • Collaborate with clients to oversee vendors and client stakeholders involved in program design and construction
  • Procure vendors including architects/engineers and constructors
  • Manage programs to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and project objectives
  • Advise on program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide guidance on contracting methods, program scheduling, budget decisions, and industry best practices
  • Advise on issue resolution in line with project objectives
  • Coordinate and communicate with client management and support staff
  • Attend meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and professional service providers
  • Review vendor invoices, billings, and pay applications for budget and lender-procedure compliance
  • Evaluate design and construction issues, RFIs, and submittals throughout construction
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations and regular project updates
  • Work with the internal team to implement and comply with P&M and PMR policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering Degree, Architecture Degree, or Construction Management Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 8+ years of building, design, and construction experience in project management, construction administration, or construction field management
  • Construction field experience on large-scale residential, commercial, or institutional work
  • Knowledge of construction best practices
  • Understanding of the design process that drives scope and budget development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software
  • Must reside in or near the Chicago area or be willing to relocate
  • Availability for site visits and in-person client meetings 1–2 days per week
  • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally, up to 25%
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except qualified bilingual candidates in Japanese and English or Chinese and English
  • Construction cost estimating experience is desirable
  • Experience with vertical construction is desirable
  • Experience with design or construction of senior living or multi-family housing is desirable
