About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define long-term client objectives and develop real estate portfolio and investment strategies
  • Source, underwrite, negotiate, and execute acquisitions, dispositions, 1031 exchanges, and refinancings
  • Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions
  • Develop and execute asset-level business plans, budgets, leasing strategies, capital plans, and hold/sell analyses
  • Oversee property managers, leasing agents, and third-party providers
  • Monitor KPIs, debt covenants, and lease expirations
  • Prepare investment memoranda, cash flow models, sensitivity analyses, and performance reports
  • Serve as day-to-day client lead and primary point of contact with lenders, brokers, legal counsel, investment managers, and service providers
  • Manage engagements end to end within budget and time constraints
  • Participate in client meetings and site visits
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations
  • Advise clients on business plans, strategy, industry trends, and risks
  • Build relationships with client decision-makers and advisors to expand relationships and facilitate referrals
  • Identify and coordinate cross-serving opportunities
  • Grow firm profits by identifying new opportunities and increasing ongoing work profitability
  • Conduct practice activities consistently with and promote Plante Moran values

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Development, Finance or related field is required
  • Minimum 7 years of real estate investment, asset management, or transaction experience
  • Experience with complex financial modeling using advanced Excel-based formulas and/or ARGUS Enterprise
  • Experience creating high-quality client presentations in PowerPoint
  • Experience using LLMs and other artificial intelligence tools (e.g., CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT)
  • Prior responsibility for business development, account development, and client retention
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except for qualified candidates bilingual in Japanese and English or Chinese and English
  • Exempt position may require hours exceeding the standard 40-hour work week
