About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform detailed operational and financial analyses for senior living organizations, communities, portfolios, and development initiatives
  • Analyze payroll and labor data, including staffing, wages, overtime, agency utilization, productivity, benefits, and departmental cost structure
  • Evaluate operating performance across occupancy, revenue, pricing, labor, care delivery, dining, facilities, sales and marketing, and administration
  • Benchmark client performance against internal, peer, market, and industry benchmarks
  • Monitor and synthesize senior living industry trends, operating indicators, economic factors, and emerging practices
  • Manage, clean, organize, reconcile, and analyze large, complex, confidential datasets
  • Use data visualization and storytelling to convert complex findings into clear narratives
  • Connect operating metrics and financial results to business drivers and identify performance-improvement actions
  • Develop recommendations, implementation tactics, performance targets, and monitoring approaches
  • Work directly with senior living clients to gather information, understand context, test hypotheses, and validate findings
  • Participate in client interviews, meetings, site visits, and working sessions
  • Prepare concise reports integrating quantitative findings, charts, tables, observations, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Develop client-ready presentations and explain complex analysis to stakeholders
  • Contribute to engagement planning, work plans, information requests, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Use approved AI tools for research, analysis, scenario testing, pattern identification, and reporting while validating outputs and protecting confidential information
  • Assist with pro forma financial models for senior living developments, expansions, renovations, acquisitions, and asset repositioning
  • Support assumptions for unit mix, occupancy ramp-up, rates, ancillary revenue, staffing, expenses, capital needs, and stabilization
  • Perform scenario, sensitivity, and feasibility analyses
  • Translate model results into investment and operating implications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, data analytics, health care administration, hospitality, or a related field
  • 3–7 years of experience
  • Strength in quantitative analysis, financial analysis, operational analysis, benchmarking, and interpretation of business performance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with business intelligence, visualization, database, or financial modeling tools is preferred
  • Ability to use AI tools responsibly and effectively in research, analysis, modeling support, and written deliverables
  • Excellent report writing, editing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to assess payroll and labor data and understand its relationship to service delivery, resident acuity, occupancy, revenue, productivity, and margin
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, organize significant amounts of information, maintain attention to detail, and complete high-quality work on time and within budget
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working collaboratively with client personnel at all organizational levels
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively as part of a project team
  • Senior living, health care, hospitality, real estate, consulting, or related industry experience is preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including overnight stays
  • Ability to work in Chicago or Metro Detroit office, and willingness to relocate if necessary
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except qualified bilingual candidates in Japanese and English or Chinese and English
