About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own Plasma's data platform end to end, including the Snowflake warehouse, production and third-party ingestion, and the modelled layer
Define company metrics including funded users, activation, engagement, balances, spend and retention
Partner with Consumer to analyse user behaviour across regions, segments and products
Design and analyse experiments
Work with Payments and finance on reconciliation, revenue reporting and unit economics
Identify fraudulent and abusive patterns across onboarding, funding, card spend and transfers
Build risk and operations signals and rules
Make data quality, testing, access control and PII handling part of the platform
Choose tools, set standards and hire the data team as Plasma scales

Requirements

What you’ll need

A senior, hands-on data practitioner with a track record of both building a data platform and using it
Deep SQL and data modelling skills
Enough engineering range to build and run production pipelines yourself
Comfortable starting from very little and building something scalable
Strong judgment on speed vs. rigour, build vs. buy, and quick answers vs. reusable models
Ability to turn analysis into decisions and explain findings to non-technical leaders
Clear communication and clean, tested code
High agency and ability to identify important problems independently
Nice to have: early or founding data hire at a fast-growing fintech
Nice to have: experience with payments, cards, ledgers, settlement, chargebacks or FX
Nice to have: hands-on fraud, risk or financial-crime analytics
Nice to have: familiarity with stablecoins and on-chain data
Nice to have: experience hiring and growing a data team
Nice to have: machine learning in production for fraud, risk or personalisation
