About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage customer projects in the areas of networking and infrastructure
  • Plan, deploy, and configure networks according to customer requirements
  • Configure routers and switches, including VLANs, trunks, STP, LACP, and port security
  • Set up and maintain routing concepts, particularly OSPF and BGP
  • Build and operate site-to-site connectivity, VPNs, and MPLS/provider connections
  • Provide customer support by phone, through a ticketing system, and on-site
  • Identify and resolve faults using diagnostic and monitoring tools
  • Advise internal and external users on the selection and use of network components and solutions
  • Analyze and resolve performance and availability issues
  • Support the operation and maintenance of systems and network infrastructures
  • Create system and network documentation
  • Conduct customer training sessions
  • Support the support team leadership and potentially take on management responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Computer Science or vocational qualification as an IT specialist, ideally specializing in systems integration; alternatively, career changers with hands-on knowledge and several years of professional experience in the IT industry
  • Several years of professional experience
  • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies, including switching and routing
  • Practical experience configuring routers and switches
  • Experience with routing protocols, particularly OSPF and BGP
  • Understanding of network security, including segmentation, ACLs, firewall fundamentals, and best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of server operating systems and databases
  • Excellent written and spoken German
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Structured, transparent, and self-organized approach to work
  • High level of commitment and initiative
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Quick learner with a strong willingness to learn
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to find solutions to problems quickly
