Key responsibilities & impact

Perform psychosocial assessments that comply with evidence-based practices
Provide counseling and therapy for patients using evidence-based treatment modalities
Provide individual, family, and group therapy
Maintain professional development as required by the licensing board
Complete required documentation and paperwork, including biopsychosocial assessments and treatment planning and implementation
Work closely with patients, families, and the team to overcome treatment obstacles
Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
Demonstrate cultural competency and commitment
Respond quickly to urgent or emergent needs
Maintain a caseload of 30–35 patients weekly and a minimum of 5 patients daily

What you’ll need

Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field required
Relevant therapist license in the state(s) practicing: LMSW-NY, LCSW-NY, or LMHC-NY
LCSWs & LMHCs must have a NY Medicaid Provider Number
Must have experience with pediatric and adolescent patients
Experience providing teletherapy to children and adolescents preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to effectively interact, work, and develop meaningful relationships with people of various cultural backgrounds
Knowledge of the psychosocial aspects of illness and health
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent short-term counseling skills
Experience with discharge planning
