About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Poesis’s AI strategy and research
- Set the AI research direction and identify the hardest problems worth solving
- Guide the team’s technical work and set the research agenda
- Push foundation models, agentic systems, and world models through new architectures and research approaches
- Explore pre-training, mid-training, and post-training methods
- Advance tabular machine learning research, including prior-data fitted networks (PFNs)
- Tackle learning from small, high-dimensional datasets
- Turn promising research into models and systems for difficult real-world problems
- Develop, test, and implement technical ideas hands-on
- Help shape the company’s product and operations as an early team member
Requirements
What you’ll need- Exceptional AI research experience at a frontier AI lab, including leading research initiatives and helping set technical direction
- Deep expertise in modern AI architectures, model training, and machine learning
- Strong research track record, including relevant publications
- Strong mathematical and statistical foundations
- Ability to tackle difficult problems with limited, complex data
- Hands-on technical leadership experience guiding researchers while developing, testing, and implementing ideas
- For U.S. candidates, current legal authorization to work in the United States is required
- Experience with frontier tabular ML methods (nice to have)
- Experience applying ML to financial markets or complex, high-dimensional datasets (nice to have)
