About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research and ship new Kubernetes cost-efficiency detections using real customer data
- Lead the Kubernetes domain, detection library and roadmap to maximize value
- Collaborate with engineering across Kubernetes internals, cloud provider APIs, billing systems and data pipelines
- Bring Kubernetes domain expertise into pre-sales and post-sales processes and work directly with prospects
- Publish thought-leadership content through blog posts, white papers, open source, webinars or live sessions
- Own Kubernetes cost efficiency and ship several new detections within the first six months
- Ensure customer teams review, approve and implement recommendations across their environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years running production workloads on Kubernetes (EKS, GKE or AKS) as an SRE, platform, DevOps or infrastructure engineer, including on-call experience
- Independent and comfortable owning an ambiguous problem end to end from first hypothesis to shipped detection
- Ability to translate research findings into clear technical requirements, align priorities with engineering teams, and coordinate delivery through production
- Deep, hands-on AWS knowledge including EC2, EKS, ECR, networking, Savings Plans and RIs
- Working knowledge of Azure or GCP
- Strong quantitative skills in analytics, statistics and modeling
- Skeptical, evidence-first mindset
- Clear communication skills for explaining technical findings and business impact
- Nice to have: AI/ML infrastructure experience, FinOps experience with AWS CUR, Split Cost Allocation Data and FOCUS, dbt, Snowflake, Go, ARM/Graviton migrations, rightsizing programs, Databricks, BigQuery, published technical research, public speaking, open-source contributions, cloud security research, or academic background
