About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain Apache Camel routes and Spring Boot services
Develop new integrations and modify existing integrations
Investigate and resolve performance issues
Own production incidents involving orders, warehouse delivery, and shipping confirmations
Read logs and data and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to determine root causes
Work with ERP and operations teams to distinguish data or process problems from code defects
Ship changes through GitHub Actions, Helm, AKS, Spring Cloud Config, Azure Key Vault, Azure Service Bus, Postgres, and Datadog
Use AI agents to write and review code, investigate issues, produce documentation, and improve agent instructions and tooling
Review pull requests and participate in code reviews
Improve logging, configuration, maintainability, and operational reliability
Serve as an individual contributor on the Integrations team, reporting to US engineering leadership and working with India ERP and data teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Immediate joiner who can start in Oct or early Nov
6+ years building backend Java, including at least a few years with Apache Camel
Recent experience with Camel 4, Spring Boot 3, and Java 21
Daily, hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot agent mode, or similar as the primary way of writing and reviewing code
Experience running integration services in production, including queues, retries, idempotency, and dead-letter handling
Comfortable with SQL and Postgres
Kubernetes and cloud-provider experience; Azure preferred, with AWS or GCP experience transferable
Experience with Helm, containers, logs, and metrics
Writes runbooks, PR descriptions, and ticket documentation
Surfaces blockers promptly
Ability to work independently across a time gap
Ability to distinguish when decisions require collaboration with colleagues in another time zone
EDI experience, especially retail SPS Commerce and X12 850/856/945, is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central or another ERP with a real order-to-cash flow is a plus
Experience with 3PL / warehouse integrations and order management systems is a plus
Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, or marketplace APIs is a plus
Experience with Spring Cloud Config, Azure Service Bus, APIM, and Datadog is a plus
Experience with Snowflake, ADLS, Microsoft Fabric, or feeding a data platform from operational systems is a plus
