About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Interface with several PBC departments to troubleshoot, improve, upgrade, and support manufacturing network systems
- Build, configure, test, and debug robotics applications, PLC programs, and HMI software
- Develop custom software programming, applications, and interfaces to control and monitor systems
- Install, commission, and deploy robotic programs and integrate them with existing manufacturing infrastructure
- Diagnose robotic systems, advanced displays, advanced sensing, and robotic programs
- Create technical documentation and backups of system architecture diagrams, PLC programs, and user manuals
- Implement advanced sensing and vision systems and maintain sensor calibration
- Investigate mechanical failures and maintenance problems for root cause analysis
- Provide occasional after-hours remote support for 24/7 operations
- Support Operations and Maintenance by troubleshooting electronics and program failures
- Provide technical support for robotic systems
- Monitor and optimize robotic system performance and implement improvements
- Train production personnel on system and program operation and maintenance
- Work with vendors and internal personnel on automated-solution projects
- Support software upgrades, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance
- Stay updated on robotics technology and industry best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics Engineering or Controls Engineering
- Seven years of experience maintaining and programming Krones can bottling and packaging machinery, including installation, commissioning, startup, overhaul, inspection, retrofit, and service
- Seven years of experience programming and troubleshooting controller interfaces and PLCs using Allen-Bradley, Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA Portal, ladder logic, SCL, and structured text
- Seven years of experience programming HMIs using FactoryTalk, WinCC, TIA Portal, Zenon, and Inductive Automation Ignition
- Seven years of experience with VODM fillers; CIP/SIP processes using phosphoric and caustic; Transmarket product-preparation equipment and processes; and adjusting blending, preparation, filling processes, and filling programs
- Seven years of experience with tray packers, palletizers, dry-end machinery, peripherals, conveyors, LCT4 systems, and bottle liners/separators
- Seven years of electrical experience interpreting American and European (German) prints
- Seven years of experience with Profibus, AS-i Bus, CAN bus, Ethernet, Powerlink, and Profinet networks
- Seven years of experience with Danfoss, Allen-Bradley, and B&R frequency inverters, servo drives, stepper motors, and general motor control
- Seven years of experience programming and addressing AS-i Bus and AS-i safety devices
- Seven years of experience with inspection systems, Anton Paar equipment, digital and analog sensors, flow meters, temperature and pressure transmitters, and mass flow meters
- Seven years of mechanical experience performing major overhauls, replacing worn parts, and rebuilding filling valves, manifold distributors, filler main bearings, conveyor belts, and process valves
- Seven years of experience replacing and referencing servo motors
- Seven years of experience with line control and balancing; adjusting conveyor speeds; and creating, adjusting, and tuning formats
- Seven years of experience developing SOPs, engineering and automation kaizens, and training personnel in OEM machinery operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience with CMMS preferred
- Experience working with Krones equipment preferred
- Experience in a bottling or similar beverage production work environment preferred
