About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as co-owner of the squad alongside the Product Owner, prioritizing requests, delegating tasks, negotiating with stakeholders, and aligning delivery expectations
  • Serve as the technical reference for the squad’s day-to-day activities and help resolve technical questions and blockers
  • Lead code reviews and ensure the quality of delivered code
  • Support the PO and team with the technical refinement of user stories
  • Break down business requirements into actionable technical tasks and realistic estimates
  • Ensure the adoption of architecture standards, automated test coverage, and DevSecOps security practices
  • Assist with diagnosing production incidents and troubleshooting
  • Monitor the health and observability of applications running in the AWS cloud

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid experience in backend development with Java (Spring Boot) and/or Node.js
  • Experience with Java Batch / Spring Batch focused on high-volume processing
  • Collaborative profile with the ability to act as the focal point and technical reference for a development team
  • Experience in the private-label card, acquiring, and payments markets
  • Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Strong knowledge of Design Patterns, REST/RESTful, SOLID, API First, and systems integration
  • Experience integrating with messaging/event services (Kafka, SQS/SNS, or RabbitMQ)
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS)
  • Experience with Docker, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL/cache databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redis, DynamoDB)
  • Strong communication skills to align technical aspects with the PO and other squad members
  • Preferred: knowledge of credit card products (Payware)
  • Preferred: experience in PCI-DSS-compliant environments
  • Preferred: knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS
  • Preferred: observability practices and tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
