About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a consistent point of contact for online and/or regional-site students from enrollment through graduation
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with new students and sustain them through graduation
- Counsel and coach adult students to overcome barriers to academic and career goals
- Communicate frequently with assigned students by phone and email
- Respond to student questions and requests, typically on the same day
- Advocate for student needs across university departments
- Independently manage an assigned student caseload
- Track student progress toward graduation and report metrics to management
- Analyze student data to improve the student experience and services
- Identify barriers to academic success and develop retention solutions
- Introduce and train students on university systems such as Web Registration and Blackboard
- Communicate and support university academic policies
- Guide students on academic progress, course selection, degree selection, and work/life/study issues
- Coach students on success strategies, overcoming objections, and productive university interactions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Engaging and dynamic phone presence
- Excellent email communication skills and clear, concise writing ability
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Energetic and goal-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
- Dedicated to student success
- Responsive to students and colleagues
- Ability to use and quickly learn technologies including Blackboard, social media, CRM/CNS, and Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain consistent contact with a student caseload
- Ability to connect with and develop relationships with adult students
- High ethical standards
- Ability to work evenings/weekends preferred
