About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide programming, troubleshooting, training and commissioning services for automated compression and process control systems throughout the enterprise
  • Provide technical expertise in automation for a specialty, geographic area, or operational function
  • Make decisions and solve unique and complex issues
  • Apply specialized knowledge to major projects while supervising and controlling project costs and resources
  • Prepare and deliver presentations
  • Interpret and anticipate business challenges and customer needs
  • Improve products, processes or services and identify solutions
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
  • Serve as content lead and custodian for operations and maintenance requirements, guidelines and variance requests
  • Support technical security initiatives and hardware refreshes
  • Manage additions, suspensions and deletions of approved manufacturers for the enterprise
  • Develop and implement condition-based maintenance programs
  • Enhance automation system reliability
  • Assist with equipment outages and maintenance
  • Review management of change plans
  • Support project design and automation systems
  • Develop and deliver training programs
  • Coordinate firmware and software testing
  • Create implementation plans and perform due diligence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Eight (8) years engineering experience in natural gas, petrochemical or related industry
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
  • Sophisticated knowledge of enterprise administration, maintenance, reporting and support for AssetCentre and other enterprise automation systems and software
  • Understanding of programmable logic control (PLC), distributed control (DCS) and human-machine interface (HMI) systems and programming protocols
  • Extensive experience with Allen Bradley PLC, FactoryTalk, and AVEVA (Wonderware) DCS
  • Preferred: PE License
  • Preferred: Experience with Yokogawa, Foxboro, and/or DeltaV DCS systems
