About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and execute the software engineering strategy aligned with the company’s PQC product roadmap.
- Lead and mentor software engineers, developers, and software security experts.
- Champion and refine Agile development processes to improve velocity, predictability, and product quality.
- Stay informed about post-quantum cryptography trends and software implementations.
- Oversee design and implementation of cryptographic software libraries, secure protocols, and secure IP blocks optimized for PQC algorithms.
- Drive software design and integration for secure key management, secure communication protocols, and cryptographic agility.
- Ensure scalable, high-performance software architecture for embedded, mobile, cloud, and data centre applications.
- Support Agile software project execution, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate cryptographers, hardware engineers, and external vendors for software and cryptography integration.
- Implement and enhance testing and verification methodologies, including CI/CD for automated testing, integration, and deployment.
- Collaborate with hardware and cryptography teams on hardware-software co-design and PQC hardware accelerator integration.
- Engage open-source communities and enterprise customers on PQC software IP integration and deployment.
- Communicate technical concepts and development progress to executives, product management, and customers.
- Ensure software products meet security standards and regulations for post-quantum cryptography.
- Enforce secure software development lifecycle principles, including side-channel resistance, secure coding, and cryptographic algorithm agility.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Education: Phd, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a focus on cryptography or cybersecurity.
- 10+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience in software security, cryptographic software implementations (e.g., OpenSSL, BoringSSL), and knowledge of post-quantum cryptography.
- Experience in secure software development and validation, including knowledge of C, C++, Rust, or other relevant languages.
- Proven experience in bringing secure software products from concept to market.
- Deep, hands-on experience with modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban), including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and performance metric tracking.
- Understanding of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and key management systems.
- Familiarity with PQC standards and protocols (e.g., NIST PQC).
- Expertise in designing and implementing secure architectures for software and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of secure software for embedded systems and IoT security.
- Experience with software-based security solutions, secure coding practices, and vulnerability analysis.
- Understanding of secure implementation of cryptography and systems using cryptography.
- Knowledge of implementation attacks such as side-channel and fault injection and implementation countermeasures.
