About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Be familiar with the operational aspects of all filling machines and clean those machines
  • Minimize machinery downtime
  • Follow established practices for cleaning the work area
  • Monitor product quality to ensure problems are caught early
  • Maintain communication with co-workers to coordinate run schedules
  • Complete duties consistently with GMP, state and federal regulations, and company/plant safety policies
  • Perform established quality assurance tests in the lab
  • Order and receive packaging and ingredients
  • Maintain open communications with Utility People, Receiving, Processing, Filling, and Blow Mold operators
  • Display a high level of professionalism
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules with changing start times when needed
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Solid understanding of GMP and state/federal regulations and practices
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Must be able to stand/walk for virtually the entire shift
  • Ability to kneel and bend
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Some work on ladders is required
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must be flexible to changes
  • Decision-maker and performance oriented
  • Problem solving
  • Must work within strict operating standards to meet Prairie Farms, state and federal guidelines
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Must work in hard and sometimes slippery floors, temperatures from 50 to 100 degrees F, noisy and wet environments, with exposure to allergens and cleaning chemicals
  • Personal protective equipment required, including bump cap, hearing protection, and rubber boots
  • Hairnets are required
  • Uniforms must be worn
