About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead formulation strategy across programs and represent Formulation/Pharmaceutical Development on CMC and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Communicate strategy, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations
  • Design, oversee, and interpret formulation studies for novel drug candidates, including small molecules and/or ASOs
  • Translate study learnings into development decisions
  • Develop phase-appropriate formulations and scalable manufacturing processes
  • Partner with Discovery and other functions to support preclinical studies and clinical development
  • Provide scientific oversight for formulation and process development at CDMOs
  • Ensure external activities meet Praxis quality, timing, and clinical manufacturing needs
  • Author and contribute to formulation development reports and CMC sections of INDs, IMPDs, NDAs, and related submissions
  • Guide scientists and external partners, bring together cross-functional teams, and resolve issues affecting program progress

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, chemical or biochemical engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Deep understanding of physicochemical and biopharmaceutical properties and their application to formulation and drug product design
  • Experience leading formulation development and manufacturing process development from early-stage work through clinical supply
  • Strong scientific judgment and creative problem-solving in complex development environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence across functions and communicate directly and clearly
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-directed decision-making and ownership in an agile environment
  • Curiosity, innovation, urgency, integrity, and confidence
  • Ability to work remotely and willingness to travel as needed
