About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop comprehensive training curricula using established instructional design methodologies, including SAM and adult learning principles
  • Partner with SMEs and ministry leadership to identify learning needs, define measurable learning objectives, and establish curriculum requirements
  • Translate existing content, ministry resources, policies, and subject matter expertise into structured learning experiences
  • Develop learning pathways incorporating instructor-led training, virtual instruction, self-paced e-learning, and blended learning approaches
  • Create course outlines, learning objectives, instructional strategies, lesson plans, storyboards, and assessments
  • Ensure consistency in curriculum structure, instructional quality, branding, and learner experience
  • Design training for audiences with varying levels of experience, knowledge, and technical proficiency
  • Develop facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentation materials, and supporting instructional resources
  • Incorporate interactive learning activities, group discussions, role-playing, case studies, and practical application exercises
  • Adapt instructor-led materials for in-person and virtual classroom delivery
  • Develop train-the-trainer resources as needed
  • Design and develop interactive, self-paced e-learning modules using industry-standard authoring tools
  • Convert instructor-led materials into digital learning experiences where appropriate
  • Create multimedia content incorporating video, audio, graphics, knowledge checks, scenarios, and interactive exercises
  • Develop assessments to evaluate learner comprehension, knowledge retention, and practical application
  • Ensure e-learning content is compatible with the organization's LMS
  • Package and publish courses using standards such as SCORM or xAPI
  • Test courses for functionality, accessibility, usability, and compatibility across devices
  • Develop reusable learning templates and design standards
  • Develop learning assessments, knowledge checks, evaluations, and tools to measure training effectiveness
  • Incorporate feedback from SMEs, facilitators, and learners into curriculum revisions
  • Support pilot testing and refine courses before final implementation
  • Manage assigned curriculum development projects from discovery through final delivery
  • Establish project milestones, deliverable schedules, and review cycles with the project manager, CFE Director, and PreBorn! leadership
  • Coordinate with SMEs to obtain, validate, and organize content
  • Communicate project status, anticipated challenges, and resource needs proactively
  • Maintain organized project documentation, source files, and version controls
  • Deliver completed, editable curriculum assets and supporting documentation
  • Ensure all work aligns with PreBorn!'s mission, values, messaging, and ministry standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning and Development, Educational Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of demonstrated instructional design and curriculum development experience
  • Proven experience developing both instructor-led training and interactive e-learning courses
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design models, and learning assessment methodologies
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Adobe Captivate, or comparable platforms
  • Experience creating facilitator guides, participant materials, presentations, storyboards, and learning assessments
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and SCORM-compatible course development
  • Strong writing, editing, content organization, and visual communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Experience collaborating with SMEs to translate technical or specialized content into effective training
  • Portfolio demonstrating successful development of instructor-led and e-learning curriculum
  • Respect for and alignment with PreBorn!'s Christian mission and pro-life values
  • Ability to develop educational content consistent with PreBorn!'s mission, Statement of Faith, ministry philosophy, and organizational standards
  • Preferred: Experience developing curriculum for nonprofit, ministry, healthcare, pregnancy center, or mission-driven organizations
  • Preferred: Familiarity with pregnancy center operations, client services, training, or professional development
  • Preferred: Experience developing competency-based training and certification programs
  • Preferred: Knowledge of blended learning strategies and virtual instructor-led training
  • Preferred: Experience with multimedia production, video editing, and graphic design
  • Preferred: Familiarity with accessibility standards, including WCAG principles
  • Preferred: Experience designing reusable curriculum frameworks that support organizational growth and scalability
