About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as backup to the Production Supervisor.
- Train production and injection molding staff.
- Oversee day-to-day production activities.
- Assist in leading a team of 6-8 production personnel.
- Promote an inclusive, supportive, team-oriented work environment.
- Drive safety compliance and provide hands-on safety training.
- Lead, motivate, and delegate personnel in the production area.
- Spend at least 95% of time on the production floor developing and supporting employees.
- Set up, operate, train on, and troubleshoot packaging and production equipment.
- Execute packaging and food safety quality checks and document them in food safety and quality assurance software.
- Ensure employees are trained in quality, machinery operations, and relevant procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality and food safety processes.
- Ensure on-time product delivery according to the production schedule.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the production area.
- Ensure maintenance and care of machines, tools, and auxiliary equipment.
- Complete or verify all paperwork accurately and on time.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years Packaging or Manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
- Must be able to complete the forklift certification course and drive a forklift.
- Knowledge of GMP's, sanitation standards, and SQF & FDA requirements (have or acquire).
- Hands-on operation, training, and troubleshooting experience with molding equipment, fillers, labelers, cappers, case packers, and robotic palletizers.
- Ability to work 5pm-5:10am on a 2-2-3 shift schedule.
